The IDIT SDM rests on seven pillars:
-
Partnership – SDM looks at the customer and the implementer as true partners, who share knowledge, information, goals and motivation to complete the project successfully for the customer
-
Win Early - SDM acknowledges the need to meet business goals and to reduce major risks on the operations of the customer. The goals of the customer and the project are transformed into a project plan that will realize the business objectives in the best possible way
-
Package Leads - As of the beginning of the project and its early stages, standard IDIT functionality will act as the starting point for the design of the solution. Any decision regarding customization and software implementation is analyzed with this principle in mind enabling a cost/benefit analysis to best suit the project and the customer
-
Strong Governance - SDM sees the governance track as highly important and invests particular attention on all related aspects of managing and leading the insurance software project successfully. This is achieved in the most efficient manner with the aim of making overheads into efficient leading and supporting factors for the various aspects of the project
-
Customer Independence - One of the SDM key cornerstones refers to the ability of the customer to be independent to the fullest extent by providing customer representatives full access and knowledge of IDIT™
-
Iteration - SDM strives towards improved efficiency, therefore – where possible - key phases of the project are sub-divided and performed in iterations
-
Prototyping - SDM acknowledges the fact that the involvement and buy-in of the customer personnel and the business people is highly important. In order to strengthen the connection between requirements and outcomes, SDM ensures that stakeholders are exposed to the specific implementation during every stage of the project as early as the Design phase

IDIT SDM - Management & Governance
IDIT sees the governance track as highly important and invests particular attention to all related aspects of managing and leading the project successfully.
On top of a highly-skilled Project Manager that functions as the main governance controller, every project includes a Development Manager responsible for all of the implementation and delivery aspects. Additionally, early in the project, IDIT makes sure that a senior user is involved (management board member-level).
IDIT SDM includes a predefined set of formal ongoing meetings that ensure professional tracking of all aspects of the project as well as handling various aspects of the project from up close.
Special emphasis is put on risk management and change management, where the project Steering Committee is supplied with and is thus able to make decisions to track, assist and steer the project in the best possible manner.
